Corporate Finance

The course begins by evaluating different approaches to structuring corporate finance, including the life cycle concept, as a framework for systematic analysis. It then examines advanced forms of equity financing, such as private and public equity, debt financing through bonds, and mezzanine capital, including convertible instruments. Finally, it explores complex combinations of financing methods, with a particular focus on project finance as a solution to challenging financial situations. The accompanying tutorial reinforces the concepts introduced in the lectures through practical exercises, numerical problems, and case studies, helping students develop a deeper understanding of corporate financing strategies and their real-world applications.

Learning outcomes / Competencies:

Building on the knowledge of corporate finance acquired during their bachelor's studies, students expand and deepen their ability to distinguish between different financing alternatives and analyze them from an economic perspective. This enables them to evaluate the available financing options and select or combine the most appropriate solutions for specific corporate financing challenges based on sound business and financial principles.
