Realize of simple measurement tasks with a microcontroller, and analyse of the data; understand and apply the computer science concept of ‘algorithms’; learn the basic elements of procedural and object-oriented programming; fundamental knowledge about C++ and Python.
The following course/module was developed at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg.
Learning outcomes / Competencies
The successful participation enables the students to
- Understand what algorithms are, and how concrete scientific tasks can be translated to algorithms
- Apply concepts of procedural and object-oriented programming in Python and C++
- Be able to identify practical challenges of data aggregation and processing, and realize the respective implementations
- Categorize and use programming tools
- Apply data structures and algorithmic concepts, and dispose of knowledge of selected standard algorithms
