Energie- und Rohstoffwirtschaft

The course covers key topics related to the energy and raw materials sector. It examines the importance of energy and resource industries for economic development and sustainability. Students learn about different energy sources and raw materials, including their characteristics and applications. The course also introduces the legal framework governing energy and resource markets as well as the functioning of these markets. Furthermore, it explores renewable primary energy sources and raw materials, energy system analysis including grids, storage, and sector coupling, and the principles of the circular economy, with a particular focus on cascading resource use to improve efficiency and sustainability.

Learning outcomes / Competencies:

Students are able to explain, from a business administration perspective, the significance and impacts of the energy and raw materials sector, characterize different raw materials and energy sources, and describe the economic and legal framework governing the energy and raw materials industry.
