The Fischertechnik production facility layouts are educational models consisting of modules that simulate a small factory. The layout includes the following modules: "Conveyor line", "Multiprocessing station with oven", "Vacuum manipulator", "Indexed line with two processing stations", "Sorting line". By connecting several stations and processes, we can simulate a technological line.

With Fischertechnik, complex processes can be displayed realistically. The main focus is on simulating real actions. Fischertechnik training models are ideal for teaching, modeling and demonstration.

The following course/module was developed at the National Technical University “Dnipro University of Technology” (Dnipro, Ukraine).

Learning outcomes / Competencies:

  • Acquaintance with the technological process, understanding the organization of the mechatronic module and its control system.
  • Understanding the principle of building automated technological processes.
  • Understanding the principle of construction of mechatronic devices of various types, understanding and analysis of the functional and principle control scheme.
  • The ability to algorithmize the technological process.
  • Understanding the principle of controlling mechatronic systems using a programmable logic controller (PLC).
  • Ability to program PLC, create projects in the software environment.
