The basics of the machining process on metal cutting machine tools

The Lutsk National Technical University developed this training course.The course focuses on studying fundamental materials that students need to understand the general principles of metalworking machinery operation. The following materials pertain to the principles of processing, which entails removing layers of material by cutting.Machine tools that are commonly used in machine-building production are being discussed.

Learning outcomes / Competencies

Understand the principles of machining metal and the functioning of the main subsystems of typical machine tools.

Ability to analyse the feasibility of using technologies and means of the main types of metal processing to obtain typical mechanical engineering parts. Ability to select the main elements of the technological equipment and tooling for equipping machines for carrying out typical machining.
