In the second part of the lecture, the models of bending theory, elementary plasticity theory and the set of shear theorems for typical forming processes are developed and applied to characteristic examples. The focus is on developing the theoretical principles for material flow, stress state, force and work requirements of selected forming processes and their typical process limits.

Basic solutions are jointly implemented in the form of Python scripts and initial parameter studies are carried out. For rolling processes, an introduction to the open-source programme PyRolL (https://github.com/pyroll-project) is provided.

The following course/module was developed at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg.

Profound skills in the thermodynamic and continuum mechanical description of forming processes, creation of phenomenological models to describe the forming and temperature state as well as the associated models to describe the material state and the essential boundary conditions for the forming zone
